Georgii Uvs`s art exposition opening under the intriguing title "Anticipation of change, leading back" was held at Winzavod*, July 17. The event took place in a small room of a vaulted cell which perfectly matched the artist`s idea of creating mystery and the Middle- Age atmosphere around his paintings. Monks in black tunics, the keepers of the monastery, who would accompany visitors in the gallery, did much for effect.
The two meter high paintings gave the impression of being huge and mysterious under the low ceilings of the cellar. Besides, the glow they radiated, as a result of special techniques invented by the artist, made them seem even more unusual and, above all, voluminal.
The cell could not afford to house numerous invitees and for the occasion a large 20x20m tent was raised on the Winzavod main square where the bulk of the opening ceremony was to be held.
Many celebrities attended the event, well known owners of leading art galleries, representatives of Art funds and art collectors were among them.
More than two hundred people enjoyed beautiful choir singing of "The Tallish Scholars" English group, at the setting. The Renaissance music played by the choir helped people to emotionally tune in the mood and feelings of the artist himself which made it easier for them to percept the message from subconsciousness as expressed by his art.
An entirely large public attendance of the exposition thereafter and people`s reviews betrayed very high level of their interest in the works of Georgii Uvs.
Uvs`s painting can be viewed as expressive abstractionism or more precisely expressive symbolism. His works are valued highly among art experts.
